My new "Sculpture Paintings" are created by swirling and forming fabric over posed professional ballerinas, art models, and persons of renown. After quickly hardening, I remove the fabric sculptures and paint them as if they were artists' canvases. I love the spontaneous and collaborative process of my art form. I also enjoy the combination of sculpting and painting. Shaping fabric over figures and enhancing the forms with color is highly gratifying. My inspiration for creating art of dance comes from my extensive dance background. It is innate for me to create with models and assistants because of my vast experience working as an agency Art and Creative Director. The goal of my art practice is to inspire people to see and enjoy the beauty of our common human spirit and multicultural world. (A note of interest–while some artworks look like bronze or stone, their average weight is only 10 lbs.)
