I am a sculptor who uses clay as my medium to bring my avian subjects within reach of my audience in the form of realistic bronze castings. My sculpture conveys my love of nature along with a message of conservation. Composition, balance, and carefully proportioned and placed anatomy are key elements that I use in my work. They help to suggest that my subject has been memorialized in the act of living. These elements create a subtle movement provoking an emotional response from my audience that suggests a story as individual as the person who sees it. I work from my home, studio and shop in Hermosa, SD with my incredibly wonderful wife, one singular kitty, four chickens, herds of deer and turkeys, and countless inspirational songbirds.
