I was raised on a small farm in rural, Western Washington, where time spent out of doors with my animals greatly shaped how I perceive the world and interpret it through my sculpture. My main objectives as a sculptor are to capture the essence of a given species and remind others of the creatures with whom we share this planet. Much of my work focuses on endangered, extinct or keystone species. I attended the Olympia Waldorf School as a child, where artistic exploration was greatly encouraged and I am a graduate of the Evergreen State College. I work primarily with wire and enjoy the challenge. My studio is located in Olympia, WA, where I live with my husband, horses, rescue dogs and cat.
