Born in Tampa Florida, Noble was raised and educated in Houston Texas. He graduated from Texas Academy of Art and later studied life-drawing at the Museum of Fine Art School. Lawrence opened Noble Studio in Houston on November 1st, 1973. He worked as a freelance Illustrator in Houston, New York and Los Angeles before embarking on his career in sculpture. Since 1990 he has produced large scale public monuments and memorials that honor America's icons. In 2014, Lawrence Noble, together with Landscape Architect Lawrence Halprin and Filmmaker George Lucas won the National Sculpture Society's Henry Hering Medal for his body of work at Lucasfilm's Headquarters in the Presidio of San Francisco, California.
