Lin Ji, also known as Webson Ji, is an artist using artworks as a platform to share his opinions. He holds an MA degree in Sculpture from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA in Public Art from China Academy of Art. Webson Ji is the winner of many international competitions and awards. In July 2018, Webson was honored as the Best Young Artist of the Year of 2018 GAMMA Young Artist Competition in Tokyo, Japan, out of 226 participants from over 26 different countries. In February 2019, Webson was selected as one of the significant Asian artists for a group show called "Here There" in the World Trade Center, New York by the Asian Cultural Center. The exploration of the essence of materiality is the driving force throughout Webson's artistic career. He tries to combine the characteristics of materials with his ideas while illuminating his critical point of view. His background of being a competitive swimmer during his youth also contributes to his viewpoints surrounding the element of water. Since he was born and raised in the Eastern part of the world, Webson is inspired by his Eastern Culture.
