Seth Vandable is working on the Tony Gwynn Memorial for Lake Poway, CA. Anthony Keith “Tony” Gwynn, Sr. (1960-2014) was a professional baseball right fielder who played in Major League Baseball for the San Diego Padres. In Lake Poway, he is also remembered as a good neighbor and family man. The memorial depicts both the baseball legend and the Lake Poway resident. Vandable, a baseball fan, based the memorial on photographs of Gwynn with his daughter and granddaughters. Donations for the memorial, which will be dedicated early next year, are accepted at crowdrise. A video about the project can be viewed on YouTube.
Vandable has a background in painting and as a commercial artist. His public works include the 38′ high Man Made Energy monument in Casper, WY; For the Love of the Game in Corpus Christi, TX and the Blue Sky Dream Monument for Arlington, TX. He resides in Texas.
