The Old Man and the Cat by George Lundeen, FNSS

In early September, George Lundeen’s bronze of Ernest Hemingway was installed in Walloon Lake, MI.  Titled The Old Man and the Cat, the life-size bronze depicts the famous author after a fishing excursion with his fishing tackle and one of his many six-toed cats on his shoulder swatting at his catch. The sculpture sits very near the place where Ernest was first introduced to this picturesque community of Walloon in the fall of 1899 and not far from his cottage, Windemere, on the lake’s North Shore.
