Luz-Mary Harris, a Colombian/American sculptor, residing in New York City, uses representational work, mostly of the human figure, to create Sculptures that convey movement, action and a narrative. Her main sources of inspiration are Mythology, Greek and Roman sculpture, extensive international traveling. Her background as a clinical psychologist, and extensive exposure to art and artists, two multicultural populations, provide a common ground and language in depicting human emotions, allowing her to use art in bridging cultural differences and languages. She opened her own studio/Gallery in February of 2020, just as the pandemic began. She studied painting and sculpture at The Art Students League of New York for 10 years. Participated in the League's governance as a Board member and Vice-president. Associate member of the NSS, associate member CLWAC, Allied Artists of America, AWA, Manhattan Arts International, International Sculpture Center.
