Amanda Markel’s bronze sculptures portray their subjects by what she leaves out just as much by what she includes. The semi-abstracted contours of positive and negative space tell a story and invite the imagination to complete the composition. Through thoughtful narratives interwoven in the design, Markel builds on storytelling traditions. Her sculptures express compelling emotion and portray the challenge and beauty of our lives. This year marks the release of Markel’s inaugural life-and-quarter-size sculpture – a six foot wolf. Markel began selling her sculptures in 2020 and has been selected for The Russell Live Auction for three consecutive years. Her work has been exhibited and collected across the United States and abroad. She is a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists and has been featured in Western Art Collector and Western Art and Architecture magazines.
