SCULPTING FOR ME IS AS NECESSARY AS BREATHING. I love every aspect of creating a new work; designing the simple gestural lines of armature; the laying on of clay or wax, and the articulation of movement and detail. The making of portraits during the last three decades has been a substantial and fascinating part of my career. My goal for portraits is to create a realistic figure, expressive of the individual, and revealing small nuances unique to the subject in gesture, clothing and facial feature.
