An artist first in film as a Cinematographer (Daytime Emmy® 1998) and then in Winemaking (13 International/National/and Regional Championships and over 100 medals) and Cheffing (Executive Chef for her Winery and Bistro for 20 years (retired), and winner of CHOPPED/Cooking for Kids), Caris has always worked to achieve mastery in sensory mediums. She has sculpted for a long time, and is now able to concentrate her efforts in figurative sculpture. She has been a member of the Texas Sculpture Assn for 20+ years, and the NSS/Associate since 2018. She has participated in many group shows and also holds showings at her monograph gallery and art studio, Studio LightCatcher. Caris is currently working on a variety of figurative pieces of animals, birds, and the human form, with an emphasis on emotional expressiveness and what links us to the divine.
