A 5th-generation Texan, Clint Howard was born in San Marcos and grew up working in his family's construction business. He studied sculpture and jewelry at Texas State University, where he drew on his familiarity with tools and machinery to earn a position as a teaching assistant for the sculpture department where he ran the university’s foundry for 3 years. In 1999, Clint left school to purchase a little foundry in Bastrop in the hopes of facilitating his personal art career. Under his leadership, the foundry has thrived and is now recognized as one of the top such facilities in the country. In addition to his work with the foundry, in recent years Clint has created a life-size moose for the Columbus Ohio Zoo, a heroic-scale firefighter entitled “In Moments Valor” for the Bastrop Fire Department and the Iconic Buc-ee found all around Texas at most Buc-ee's locations. He has also served as the project manager and art director for several monumental art projects.
