My sculpture is informed by my architectural education. Architecture starts with an idea It can be a postage stamp size, but it is the kernel from which the building concept grows. Both architecture and sculpture, literally, frame this idea. It is through this framework that the idea is allowed to reveal itself. I have had the incredible opportunity of studying with several living masters; Greg Beecham, Matt Smith, Richard Greves, Michael Coleman, Eugene Daub and David Turner. As President Emeritus of American Women Artists, I was able to find an audience which expanded beyond the wildlife art genre which launched my career. Our Twenty-Five in Twenty-Five initiative is in its 5th year. By having our annual exhibitions in accredited museums throughout the United States, we are looking to place the work of female artists in their permanent collections, thus changing the dismal statistic of only 3-5% of female artists in these collections.
