Our stories are the things that define us and bind us together. After years of asking clients about the stories they want to tell, I am exploring my own experiences and interests and interpreting those narratives in sculpture. I started my sculpture career at 22 years old. Since 1991, I have been working in clay and bronze on large scale public art projects. My career has included designing and creating sculpture for parks, gardens, fountains, buildings and plazas. Clients included cities, universities, hospitals, architects and landscape architects. Recently, I started focusing on personal pieces with a smaller, more intimate approach. These one-of-a-kind pieces are sculpted and high fired in stoneware clay and retain the contemporary realist style of all my work. My experience with public art has influenced my current work, as I uncover personal themes for these smaller, more intimate pieces. In the end, it is still all about the story.
