JD Welsh has been sculpting full time in low relief for 26 years. He spent 15 years as a relief sculptor for Matthews Int. Bronze. Mr. Welsh has exhibited his sculpture in the US & Japan. His first solo exhibition was in Tokyo, 2014. In 2015, Jeremiah returned to the US after 3 years sculpting in Japan. Mr. Welsh was elected to NSS in 2016. He has been juried into the 83rd, 84th, 85th, 86th, 87th & 89th NSS Annual Exhibitions, where he has won the Pietro Montana Memorial Prize (Mayflies & Trout Rise, 2016) the Marcel Jovine President’s Prize twice (Northern Torsion, Pike and Bull, 2019 & Visions of Farewell, 2022) and the Anna Hyatt Huntington Award & Brookgreen Medal (Cormorant and Moon Jellyfish, 2020) In 2021, Jeremiah was commissioned to create the 50th Brookgreen Medal – released 2022. Jeremiah’s sculpture & commentary have been included in American Art Collector, Western Art Collector, Art of the West and Fine Art Connoisseur.
