John is a contemporary abstract sculptor working with steel, wood and found objects. His work is collected nationally, and he exhibits throughout the southwest and through public arts projects. He has been a guest instructor at the University of Colorado, Denver, as well as elementary and middle schools. His studio and sculpture garden are in Granby, CO. John was born in rural Indiana, and was raised by depression era parents, who valued simplicity and function, something he tries to continue to value today. As a young man John began his creative work in photography later moving fully into sculpture. John travelled the world spending the most time in Asia and the Pacific, finding that beauty was not limited to any one culture, geography or religion, and that similarities occur throughout the world. He settled in Hawaii for a time before moving to Denver in 1989. John currently resides in Granby, CO, with his wife and his two faithful German Shepherd shop dogs.
