John Strohbehn grew up in Washington state were he graduated with a fine arts degree from Western Washington University. Years later, while living in Hawaii he started carving wood sculptures. His work has won numerous awards, been purchased by the State of Hawaii, private collections and commissions. Moving back to Washington in 2019 he continues to refine and expand his craft.
As a direct carver he is inspired by natural pieces of wood and stone. His process strives to create balanced abstract ideas that speak through the materials.
