Raised in the Midwest, educated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois, upon graduation moved to Southern California to work as a chemist for several years. Always, fascinated with ART from an early age, led me to move to Arizona to pursue the art form of glass carving and etching. With a longing to return to the Midwest, I settled in the beautiful tranquil hills of the Ozarks, to pursue a passion of a sculptor in portrait and figurative sculpting.
Being mainly self-taught, but with several references and background in human anatomy, my medium for portrait is earthenware clay, in high reliefs the medium is bonded marble.
In each portrait or high reliefs, I try to capture a unique characteristic in my subject either through an expression or motion.
Inspiration comes from the nourishment within myself, to develop a gratification to create with my hands and heart a sculpture to be proud.
