LeaAnn Cogswell is a sculptor whose main love affair is with the human figure. Devoted to the study of the power that lies within the human form, she says, “I consider it a great privilege to work regularly from life. Infinitely varied, the human figure is fascinating and amazingly beautiful, even in all its not-so-perfect forms. A powerful visual subject, it always holds new surprises.” A Fellow of National Sculpture Society, Elected Member of Hudson Valley Art Association, a member of Academic Artists of America and Society of Connecticut Sculptors, she teaches at the University of Hartford and privately in her studio at the historic Windsor, CT Train Station. Awarded the Gold Medal by the National Sculpture Society in 2009 for her larger than life bust entitled Trust, she has received numerous national awards for her works and has exhibited in New York, the Tampa Museum, New Britain Museum of American Art, and Brookgreen Gardens.
