Colorful characters and emotions intrigue me. Mother nature inspires me. My goal is to capture the subjects energy, mold emotion, character and color into clay, so the sculpture can speak to the viewer. Subject matter is chosen based on the emotion or expression I want to convey. Each sculpture is a personal challenge for me to try something new. I try to mimic mother nature, the way she makes colors glow and dance in light. Creativity and art are my oxygen. My life’s career in advertising required creativity, but it was not until 2020, when covid hibernation allowed me time to get back to my fine art roots and find my true passion again. What sets my work apart is my focus on emotional energy and capturing those moments in time when that energy is revealed. Humor, color depth, patterns, and textures are often utilized to enhance this energy. A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic and Industrial Design was earned from Carnegie Mellon University.
