Michael Messing was born 1954 in Queens, NY. He began drawing in childhood but took no formal art training until college. As a premed student at Colgate University, he took his first life-drawing class in 1972. He fell in love with studio art and graduated with a double major, Fine Arts and Biology. Messing has been making sculptures, drawings and paintings for over 50 years. During that time, he supported himself as a Dentist/Orofacial Pain Specialist. His artwork has been exhibited in juried shows in Boston, MA, Rahway, NJ; Summit, NJ and Bethlehem, PA. His large-scale sculpture, "Sauna Oratory" was exhibited in "Sculpture at The Mount 2024," Lenox, MA. Messing was inducted into the New England Sculptors Association (NESA) in 2024.
