I have been a "serious" artist since kindergarten, consumed with creating art my entire life. Degrees in art education and fine arts have allowed me to share my passion for the visual arts with middle school students for over thirty years. Later during my teaching career I began what I call "public sculpting events", creating large sculptures for municipalities, libraries, schools, and the like. These have been performed many times in public settings in promoting community engagement, participation, and education on the making of a sculpture. Many such works are scattered throughout Central Ohio and elsewhere, with my smaller works in collections throughout the globe. As for primary subject matter, I turn to the ballet and contemporary dance for inspiration; and children as well, because they amuse and enthrall me, and are delightful to spend time with (especially my four grandchildren!). I like to think of my work as "poetry without words".
