Throughout my career in design and urban planning, I was deeply involved in the Art Community in Montreal. I served as a board member at Fonderie Darling, a Visual Arts Center in Montreal, for several years (2019-2021). For the past years, I have devoted myself to my artistic work, creating sculptures in marble and alabaster. I am a member of a cooperative of sculptors called SKULPT 303. My work is inspired by the post-war Canadian and international artists, including Yves Trudeau, Robert Roussil, Barbara Hepworth, Arp, and Noguchi, to name a few. My artistic exploration is driven by morphological forms found in the natural environment and those transformed by humans. The rounded shapes of my sculptures are composed of notches and grooves inspired by these accumulations. The stones appear to be stacked or assembled, creating a sense of imbalance. However, the stone stacking is in fact, made from a single piece meticulously chiseled (sculpted) to articulate these unique forms.
