I specialize in bronze portraits commemorating ordinary people and great people – and the many great ordinary people. My sculptures are authentically personal and expressive in classic figurative forms. In particular, I want to promote respect for the strength, the character, and the beauty of the descendants of African survivors in the Americas. It is important to me that my sculptures elicit a connection from viewers at both emotional and cognitive levels. Most of the work is small, 5-24 inches high, and are intended as maquettes for life-size or monumental pieces to be executed when commissioned. However, the smaller limited edition bronze sculptures are suitable for table, pedestal, or niche display in the house or the garden. My goal is to contribute to private collections and American public sculpture works that edify human beings and the human spirit.
