Patrick Goguen is a Boston-based interdisciplinary artist. His studies at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design included representational figure work, ceramics, and woodworking. He graduated MassArt in 2012, with a BFA in sculpture. He has timber-framed in Poland, TA’d Human Anatomy & Mold-Making, built an elephant toy, curated and installed artworks throughout New England. He works as an Art Handler in Boston, MA Patrick works with the human form participating in the canonization of societal iconography. He uses narrative and gestural action to move the viewer towards broader themes. Physical art making, and the written/spoken word are interdependent- sharing a core emotional ethos. Texture, color, and precision sculpting work together to draw a viewer’s attention towards familiar cultural touchpoints. Verbal place making, figurative humanscape, and landscape entice the viewer to discover and create connectivity between the physical and written/spoken word.
