Born in Padova, Italy, I came to the US as a young boy and did all my schooling here. I am an artist and retired architect. In my architectural career I was a leader in the field of life-affirming healthcare building design, and have now returned to my passions of stone sculpture, art and music. The theme of my work is respect for our fellow creatures – the human form and living creatures of all shapes and sizes. Animals are our precious cousins, who tragically are now facing species diminution with some possible extinctions, and the accelerating degradation of their habitats. My goal is to create an honest awareness of these beings in the viewers, and through that, a genuine concern for their perilous fate. As I work, I understand them more and more deeply. I am particularly focused on portraying my subjects faithfully, with proportions that are as correct as I can make them. I try to reproduce them as realistically as possible, to respect their essence.
