Richard Becker, FNSS, creates sculpture for civic, institutional, and private settings, with an emphasis on portraiture, legacy commissions, and site-integrated works. His commissions include twelve Emmy Hall of Fame busts for the Television Academy, plus works for Fox Studios, Scripps Research Institute, ResMed, the Los Angeles Athletic Club, the City of Palm Springs, the Hyatt Seabird Resort, and other public, institutional, and private collections. Trained as an engineer at Stanford, Becker works primarily in bronze and stainless steel, combining traditional modeling with digital tools, technical fluency, and collaboration. His prior art preservation work informs his attention to material and process. Alongside his commissions, he develops studio pieces exploring figure, scale, reflection, and stainless steel. His work brings likeness, gesture, material, and setting together to create sculpture that honors individual lives and contributes to the places they inhabit.
