My sculptural practice engages traditional sculptural forms to explore cultural questions that puzzle or intrigue me. I generally find myself introducing some contemporary material, found object or other element into classical figurative or representational contexts. In recent years my work has centered on the human head/bust. Prior to that I developed a large body of high-relief, wall-hung sculptures made by pressing objects into clay, thereby creating a mold, then pouring over it a single cast of hard plasters blended with powdered Carrara marble. -/-/-/-/ Bob was born in Oakland, CA and lives and has his studio in Rye, NY .
