Based in Newton, Massachusetts, Taylor Apostol is a sculptor working in marble and clay. Through her painted and flocked sculptures she explores ideas of memory, place and belonging. Born in Washington, D.C., Apostol spent her formative years living in Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and the suburbs of Philadelphia. Apostol earned her B.A. in Studio Art at the University of Vermont and MFA in Sculpture at Boston University. She studied marble carving in Florence and Carrara, Italy, and has attended residencies at The Factory, The Studios at MASS MoCA, and Vermont Studio Center. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, The Carving Studio & Sculpture Center, Hotel Commonwealth, Mine Falls Park in Nashua, NH, the Northern New England Museum of Contemporary Art, and Sias International University in Xinzheng, China.
