Tiffanie Turner was born in 1970 in upstate New York and raised in the woods of New Hampshire. She received a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Building Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1995 and worked as an architect for over 15 years in San Francisco, California before beginning her career as an artist. Turner has been awarded residencies at institutions including the de Young Museum, San Francisco, California and SPACE on Ryder Farm, Brewster, NY, and was the Pirkle Jones Fund Visual Arts $25,000 grant winner in 2021. For the past ten years she has been creating and exhibiting large-scale botanical paper sculptures of her own design, as well as leading instructional workshops in the US and abroad in smaller, life-sized paper flowers, which she also uses in her practice. She is the author of the book The Fine Art of Paper Flowers, published in 2017. She lives in Marin County with her husband and two children.
