Tyler School of Art 1975-1977 Millersville State College BA 1979 Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art 4 yr certificate 1989 Edinboro University MFA Sculpture 2005 I have roots in clay and pencil, having grown up in a house that fostered creativity and craftsmanship. Animals are my primary subject matter, both domestic and wild. Capturing the form of an animal is a way of capturing its essence, because animals cannot hide themselves behind vanity or deception. I need subject matter to make art, and animals speak to me- partly for themselves, and partly because they are like looking at people, obliquely. I have been sculpting for decades, working in clay, which I sometimes fire and sometimes cast in bronze or plaster. I live in rural northwestern Pennsylvania with my husband and numerous pets. Commissions accepted. My work can be found at West End Gallery, Corning NY; Purple Finch Gallery, Corry, PA; Red Raven Art Company, Lancaster, PA
