Ben Hammond, FNSS

On December 11, 2024, Ben Hammond’s sculpture of Martha Hughes Cannon was installed in the Statuary Hall in Washington, DC.  The bronze of the suffragist, doctor, and senator replaces the statue of Television Pioneer, Philo T. Farnsworth. Several dignitaries were on hand for the unveiling including Utah Lt. Gov Deidre Henderson;  Utah Senator Mitt Romney; and Arline Arnold Brady, Cannon’s great grand-daughter.  The over-life-size portrait stands among the 100 statues representing two prominent individuals from each state and is one of just 14 statues of women in the U.S. Capitol.
