Virginia sculptor, Betty Branch, recently unveiled her life-size bronze of James Tarpley in the Grandin neighborhood of Roanoke, VA. Frequently referred to as the “Angel of Grandin Village”, Tarpley was a universally loved resident who passed away in 2019 at the age of 86. The sculpture now resides on an outside bench in the downtown area of Roanoke not far where Tarpley usually sat and greeted passers-by.
