Bloch in Tawain
Towards the end of 2022, Babette Bloch was able to finally travel to Taiwan to celebrate the installation of Vitruvian Man. It was a two year and a half year process from start to finish. The work is part of the permanent collection of the Chimei Museum.
The stainless-steel sculpture was made in Naugatuck, CT at RAM Welding. It was shipped without the stone base because it was too large for a shipping container, so it had to have its own crate. The final installation was everything Bloch could have dreamed of. The CHIMEI museum leadership spoke at the ceremony and said that one million visitors a year come to the museum. This is the second of five in the edition of Bloch’s Vitruvian Man. She is working on placing another in Europe and elsewhere.
