On June 6, 2024, Chad Fisher’s monument of World War II Medic, Bernie Friedenberg was unveiled in Atlantic City, NJ. The 6-foot tall two-person portrait depicts Friedenberg giving aid to a wounded soldier and is installed in O’Donnell Memorial Park. During his service, Friedenberg risked his life on several occasions to help others and was one of the most decorated WWII Medics earning two Purple Hearts, two Silver Stars, two Bronze Medals, and honors from the French government. Hundreds attended the ceremony including a dozen WWII vets and Frienderberg’s daughter who recounted to the crowd how her father was one of the first on Omaha Beach and treated American and German soldiers alike. The unveiling occurred on the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings.
