Chas Fagan creates Jacqueline Kennedy Medallion
NSS Elected Member Chas Fagan created the Jacqueline Kennedy Medallion to celebrate the former First Lady’s historic legacy in restoring the White House and preserving Washington, DC’s Lafayette Square in the 1960s. The bas-relief, which is inscribed with Kennedy’s words, “The White House Belongs to the American People”, was unveiled by the current First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden at a White House Historical Association ceremony. “The history of our country is sewn into the soil of this park and in the bronze statues and ancient trees, in the cobblestones,” said Biden. “We can find the stories, stories that remind us of how far we’ve come. Stories that really inspire us to rise to new heights.”
