On August 19, 2023, Benjamin Victor, NSS dedicated his sculpture of Chief Big Elk in Omaha, Nebraska.

Chief Big Elk is revered as a great leader during difficult times and as an exceptional orator and peacemaker during his era.

Victor spent a year working on the 10′ statue. Early in the year, Victor and The RiverFront hosted an artist-in-residence series of events at KANEKO, where community members were able to engage with Victor and observe him working on the details of the piece.
