George Lundeen, FNSS

George Lundeen recently placed a sculpture in front of the Lowe’s Headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina. Lowe’s is on record for honoring and hiring veterans. The result of the months of work is an encapsulation of generational service. One of the two waist-up figures, described by Lundeen as “a grizzly old vet,” is standing over a set of tools and a workbench where he had been working on a triangular frame. He is reaching out his hand to shake that of an active-duty soldier, a woman holding a tri-folded American flag. “It is a simple but a nice story that honors the vets,” says Lundeen.
