Koh-Varrilla Guild, FNSS

Anna Koh-Varilla, FNSS and Jeffrey Varilla, FNSS (known collectively as Koh-Varilla Guild) had their monument of golfer Mickey Wright dedicated on Thursday, July 30, 2025 at San Diego County Club in southern California. The bronze, which stands over 7-feet tall, depicts the LPGA legend who captured the 1964 U.S. Women’s Open in mid-swing. Wright (1935-2020) was a native of San Diego and won over 82 LPGA Tour career events including 13 major championships. Although Koh-Varilla Guild has created other sculptures of male golfers in the past (Jack Nicklaus, Raymond Floyd) this is their first sculpture of a female golfer, and it joins only a handful of other bronze tributes to female golfers in the United States. The unveiling occurred during Senior LPGA Media Day and just prior to the 7th U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship that will be held Aug. 21-24, 2025 at San Diego Country Club.
