On Wednesday, October 25, NSS Fellow John Belardo will present his talk on the life, times, and contributions of the Piccirilli Brothers to New York City. Titled The Piccirilli Family: A Stone Carving Dynasty, the event is presented by Landmark West. Belardo will discuss the artists behind The Maine Memorial, The Fireman’s Memorial, as well as the lions of the New York Public Library, Patience and Fortitude. Not often acknowledged or recognized for their work, the Piccirillis worked alongside NSS founding members Daniel Chester French and Augustus Saint Gaudens on many of their public monuments. Belardo gave this presentation to a sold-out crowd at the National Sculpture Society’s 2022 Sculpture Conference. DON’T MISS OUT!
