Primary View: Sculpture in Relief Prospectus

Eligibility

The exhibition is open to members of NSS (Fellows, Elected and Associates) in good standing. Seeking reliefs for this special exhibition at the NSS Gallery. Works in low, mid, and high relief will be eligible and jurors will consider all views on submitted reliefs, from primary (front) to secondary (side). All media will be considered (bronze, wood, stone, terracotta, paper, new materials, etc…) All work will be juried anonymously from images submitted.

 

Guidelines

Sculptures may be in any permanent medium. The NSS Gallery has limited wall space; artists MUST ship their own appropriate-sized easels along with their sculpture to have it displayed. Pedestal-top easels or gallery floor easels will work but must be sturdy. Reliefs displayed on walls must not weigh more than 30 lbs. Coins and medals are not allowed. NSS will not be held responsible for any damages to sculpture no matter how or where it occurs.

 

CALENDAR

 July 12, 2024:                              Receipt deadline for submission.

July 15 – July 26, 2024:           Selection jury reviews submissions.

August 2, 2024:                          Notification sent to all applicants.

August 9, 2024:                          Information due back from artists (signed contract, submission specifics).

 

August 26 – 30

& September 3 – 6:                     Work received at NSS Gallery in New York City.

 

September 16, 2024:                  Exhibition opens at the NSS gallery.

December 20, 2024:                   Exhibition closes at the NSS gallery.
