Varvara Fern has a solo exhibition of her sculpture at Crane Arts in Philadelphia, PA  Her free standing and relief sculptures for her Travel series will be on view from May 11 – June 8.  Inspired by her extensive travel experiences and working with clay and resin, Fern creates a mysterious world of travelers that are beginning their journeys into the unknown, to explore new places, to reach harmony and happiness. Mesmerized by the road landscapes and their elements, Fern recreates the beauty she sees in them and draws close attention to the details of the landscapes highlighting highways, telephone poles, rail tracks, trains, etc.  Also on view will be her series of Bulldog sculptures.  Fern grew up with the animals and her plaster sculptures of the bulldogs depicts the funny and charming side of the breed.
