Southern CA Sculpture

exhibition

Sparks Gallery and National Sculpture Society are pleased to announce a new exhibition at the San Diego venue that features the work of 23 sculptors from the artistic community of Southern California.

With the coordinated efforts of San Diego sculptor and NSS Elected Member, Mark Edward Adams, National Sculpture Society teamed with Sparks Gallery in selecting a show of figurative work to open the 2017 season.

A prospectus for the show was sent exclusively to southern California artists in the summer and selections were made in early fall. Amy Kann, Marc Mellon and Sandy Scott, Fellows of National Sculpture Society, juried the show.

“For this exhibition, we will be showing works in bronze, marble, resin, ceramic, wood, stainless steel, and more.” says Sonya Sparks, gallery owner.  “It has been wonderful to see a diverse selection of materials, and also how the artists have executed each with their chosen medium.”

Artists included the Southern CA Sculpture exhibition:

Mark Edward Adams, Richard Becker, Marsha Brook, Dean Butterfield, Mary Buckman, Lynn Christopher, Deanna Cummins, Eugene Daub, D.L. Engle, Victor Fisher, Kevin Garceau, Anne Geiler, Sergei Iourov, Adam Matano, Dino Mehaffie, Maidy Morhous, Barbara Postelnek, Tanya Ragir, Brandon Roy, Joyce Schleiniger, Linda Serrao, Sandra Shaw, and Monica Wyatt

“The gallery is pleased to show an exceptional group of artists who have dedicated their lives to creating three-dimensional works,” Sparks continues.  “I do believe there is a strong community of sculptors who reside in Southern California, and bringing a selection of these artists together for this show will be a wonderful way to view their diversity of technique and craftsmanship.”
