On October 1, 2025, NSS Fellow Bob Guelich’s Western Lowland Gorilla was installed at the San Antonio Zoo.  The 8.5-foot tall x 9-foot wide bronze ape weighs 1900 pounds and sits in front of the Texas zoo’s newly created The Ralston and Congo Falls exhibits. The gorilla gently balances a butterfly on his index finger which connects to the zoo’s “Butterflies in Flight” exhibition located nearby.
