Dionisio Cimarelli
On October 22, 2025, Dionisio Cimarelli delivered a lecture titled “The Art of Form Across Cultures” at the Embassy of Italy in Yangon, Myanmar. Cimarelli shared insights from his international career and presented the story of his monumental sculpture dedicated to Matteo Ricci, a symbol of friendship between Western humanism and Eastern culture. Matteo Ricci (1552-1610) was an Italian Jesuit missionary known for his significant role in introducing Western knowledge and Christianity to China during the late Ming dynasty. The lecture was part of the Embassy’s cultural program promoting cross-cultural exchange between Italy and Asia.
