FLITE

On Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at the Zhen Music and Arts Institute in Dallas, TX, FLITE to Freedom celebrated a decade of merging art with acts of kindness. FLITE (Friends Lifting Individuals to Empowerment), founded by NSS Fellow, Angela Mia, is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to create a haven in which art fuels social transformation.

This year’s fundraising art event, lovingly titled “Art of Freedom,” featured a beautiful range of artwork created by artists of all ages, some still students in art, and many artists well-established professionals, including Donella Lay, NSS Regional Ambassador, and several other elected NSS members.

Hundreds of patrons joined throughout the night, enjoying the live music and social delight, as well as food & drinks. Each art purchase supported FLITE’s two esteemed charitable partners: Mosaic Family Services and The International Esperanza Project.

The highlight of the evening was the presence of Ron Rosas, a remarkable individual who honored FLITE as a featured guest speaker. Despite enduring profound challenges due to a recent illness resulting in the loss of both his arms and legs just last year, Ron’s unwavering positivity and resilience shone through. His inspiring journey and deep gratitude for life’s blessings left an indelible mark on everyone present.

FLITE’s 2024 Art of Freedom event was a celebration of unity and free expression, with attendees reveling in art, music, and engaging conversations, all while uplifting encumbered members of our world. Angela Mia, FNSS co-founded FLITE to Freedom with a mission is to harness the creativity and passion of artists to drive positive change in the world.
