NSS Fellow Fred X Brownstein is featured in Craftsmanship Quarterly magazine.  The article titled The Sculptor vs. The Robots is an in-depth look at Brownstein’s work as he discusses the traditional tools and techniques he prefers to use, while many other artists turn to machines. “I like a sculpture to be my own effort from beginning to end,” [Brownstein] says in his characteristic, matter-of-fact tone. “I would rather do it with all the faults and warts I make. They’re mine. Knowing and controlling the entire process frees up my creativity. I know how close I can get to the edge.”
