Saturday, October 29, 2016 was the closing reception for the 83rd Annual Awards Exhibition. Sculptors and Brookgreen Patrons mingled in the galleries and grounds and the NSS prize winners were formally announced.  It was an evening for celebrating the fine work in show and acknowledging the 14 prize winners; and it was also the occasion to reveal the “Brookgreen Gardens People’s Choice Award” winner. Throughout the duration of the exhibition, visitors to the show were asked to submit a vote for their favorite sculpture and ballots were tallied just before the start of the reception. This year, the “Brookgreen Gardens People’s Choice Award” went to Joshua Tobey’s Siesta.  Josephine Franklin-Tobey accepted the award on behalf of her husband, Joshua.
