RMM Competition

On June 14th, the 2019 Richard McDermott Miller Competition took place at The Art Students League of New York.

Congratulations to all ten competitors:

  • After sculpting from a live model for four hours, the competitors presented their busts to the jury which consisted of Donna Hassler, Executive Director of Chesterwood; Cameron Shay of Graham Shay 1857 gallery; and Lori Shorin, FNSS. The award winners were as follows:

    The Richard McDermott Miller Prize consisting of a $3,000 cash award, a half-page ad in Fine Art Connoisseur and a quarter-page ad in Sculpture Review – GABRIELLE TROM

    The Roger T. Williams Prize of $1,500 – BRITTANY RYAN

    The Walter and Michael Lantz Prize of $750 – MIGUEL DEL REY

    National Sculpture Society is grateful to Richard J. Moylan and Green-Wood Cemetery as well as the estates of Charlotte Geffken and Roger T. Williams for funding participation scholarships for each of the competitors.
