Stefan Savides’ Western Union installed at Putnam’s Point

On May 21, NSS Fellow, Stefan Savides’ Western Union was installed at Putnam’s Point at Upper Klamath Lake, in Klamath Falls, OR.  The bronze of two courting grebes and the furious wake they produce in their path, is located at the convergence of the south end of Upper Klamath Lake and the Link River.  The monument measures 11-feet long and 5-feet tall and weighs over 1,500 pounds. Putnam’s Point is a birder’s destination where people travel just to observe grebes, their habitats, and behaviors. The sculpture is the first in a series Savides will be creating in his hometown of Klamath Falls.
